My tongue is bored!

Day 6:

Today's recipe was yuck, but it is mainly because I'm not a fan of bananas and one of mine was a little green so it made it all the more yuck! The hubby and the kids like it, I was hoping for a little more pineapple flavor, here is the recipe:

2 cups fresh spinach, packed
2 cups water
Blend spinach and water until juice-like.
1 cup pineapple chunks
2 cups frozen peaches
2 bananas, peeled
1 1/2 packs stevia
2 tbsp. ground flaxseeds
1 scoop protein powder

On the bright side, my boiled egg snack never tasted so good :-) It was today that I realized something else about this cleanse, the only cooked food that I have had since I started is a boiled egg, no wonder my tongue is bored! I had thought about the no meat, no bread aspect, but skipped over the "raw" part. I did have more energy today than I have had. But another hard part is not sitting and having a meal with the kids, we always eat together so they definitely notice that Momma wasn't eating. Thankfully the hubby was home  and he cooked lunch and dinner for them today, though his choice of bologna sandwiches (which he had to warm in the microwave to magnify the smell), and spaghetti and garlic bread for dinner was a little like torture!

In conjunction with this being a wonderful weight loss and healthy eating tool, this method of fasting from certain foods has really benefitted me spiritually by sparking a heavier reliance on God. It is in those tough moments of temptation that I have found myself praying more for strength and also thanking God for getting me this far. I have also noticed other things that I have been praying for are beginning to take shape and I can't help but think that my prayers are more focused as I have dismissed what my mouth wants by fueling myself with only what is needed. It is by God's grace that I am able to start and complete this challenge.
